What is a capsule wardrobe?

A capsule wardrobe is a wardrobe with key pieces that you can style over and over again.
These pieces are timeless, don’t go out of style, and you can keep them in your closet for years. Which is more sustainable & you can create lots of different outfits this way!

Why a capsule wardrobe?

It’s the answer to the question, what shall I wear today? 

If you have a wardrobe with key pieces, you can make many different outfits. A capsule wardrobe consists of around 50 pieces or less. If you only focus on timeless items made of good quality, you can easily keep these items for years. When I’m looking for timeless pieces, I always check the label of the clothing to see what kind of materials it’s made of. I prefer cotton or Tencel ( lyocell ) which is a strong and sustainable fiber. Lyocell feels gentle and soft on the skin and lets your skin breath. Silk or satin are also very beautiful luxury fabrics, but are more expensive.

The fabric of which the clothing is made, plays a crucial role in the quality, feel and wear. It can be a bit more expensive compared to other fabrics. It can be a little investment but in the end it can be more sustainable because it stays in a good condition.
